Dear Sir/ Madam

Subject: Appeal for helping the victims of natural calamity in Uttarakhand State.

Uttarakhand State has been severely affected by recent cloud bursts, incessant rains & flood. Remote villages on foothills have suffered the most. More than 3500 villages have been devastated, 140 people including women & children have died so far, more than 1200 cattle have been washed away, several houses have been gutted, drinking water supply, link roads, school buildings have been damaged badly. Many village schools have been closed as the debris has filled the class rooms. As the roads have been washed away or damaged, several villages have been disconnected from the main road. Food & dry ration supply to the victims has become difficult. Several families with small children have been left with no house to live in.

The Society with its meager resources managed to transport dry ration bags to remote villages and distributed the bags to affected families in some villages of Dhanoulti Tehsil in Jaunpur Block of Tehri Garhwal district with the help of other NGOs including Mountain Forum Himalayas (MFH), a sister NGO of CASA. MFH provided 50 bags of dry ration.

If you feel, you can help the affected families in remote villages of Uttarakhand, You may send your contribution to the society. Even a small contribution given on time will give a big relief to the affected families. As winter is setting in, you may even send some blankets as well as warm cloths for the affected children.

REMEMBER!  YOUR  SUPPORT WILL HELP SOMEONE SURVIVE THIS CRISIS.
